Water treatment is known as the set of unit operations of physical, chemical, physico-chemical or biological type which aims to eliminate or reduce pollution of waters, whether they are natural, for supply, process or waste, so called sewage in the case of urban. The purpose of these operations is to obtain water with characteristics that are suitable for the use they will have, so the combination and exact nature of the process varies according to both the properties of source water and its final destination. For this we have different technologies that meet the specific needs of each customer.
Reverse osmosisIf a pressure higher than the osmotic pressure is used, the opposite effect occurs. The fluids are pressed through the membrane, while dissolved solids are left behind.
Generation of sodium hypochloriteThe electrochemical generation in site of a powerful biocide and disinfecting agent as is sodium hypochlorite is a direct, simple and reliable process that combines three common consumables; salt, water and electricity.
BiofiltersIt is a biological process used as “Roughing” to reduce organic material in wastewater with high organic load, using a permeable material, plastic, as packaging to promote the contact of water with the microorganisms adhered to this packaging.
Oil separationObjectives of the separation of fats and oils. Fats and oils are very frequent contaminants in the wastewater of any industrial plant, so specific techniques and processes have been developed for their disposal. Instead, in urban treatment plants concentration is relatively low and does not justify the use of specific processes, eliminating in aerated grit chambers or in biological processes.
UltrafiltrationIt is the type of filtration that uses membranes to separate different types of solids and liquids. The size of the pore is not as fine as in nanofiltration and does not require much energy to perform separation either, and it is smaller than that of microfiltration membranes.
Physical-Chemical filtrationIt is the process for disposal of undesirable compounds in a water stream so that it can be reused or poured properly. There are different methods such as the chemical reaction of undesirable compounds with the appropriate reagents; the insolubility of compounds through the formation of metal hydroxides or insoluble salts and the solid-liquid separation.
Ion Exchange and ElectrodeionizationIt is a continuous process in which ultrapure water is obtained without the need to use chemicals. Water is passed between a positive and a negative electrode. Semipermeable membranes of ion exchange separate the positive ions from the negative, creating deionized water.
Aerobic and Anaerobic ProcessesAerobic biological processes use microbial colonies and molecular oxygen to decompose the organic substances present in wastewater. Anaerobic digestion is a process by which microorganisms decompose biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen.
Disinfecting ProcessesWe select, install and control the sanitizing equipment to ensure and preserve water disinfection, depending on the particular conditions of the application, use or process.
